Forage Genetics International (FGI) hosted a panel seminar for dairy and alfalfa producers at the 2024 Central Plains Dairy Expo in Sioux Falls, SD at the end of March. The panel focused on topics like alfalfa’s role in the dairy diet, rotational benefits of alfalfa, and cropping decisions such as using HarvXtra alfalfa technology to help achieve higher quality forage and higher yield potential.
The panel was moderated by Randy Welch, National Alfalfa Agronomist with FGI, and included Dan Putnam, Prof. Emeritus, University of California, Davis; Greg Moes, Partner at MoDak Dairy in South Dakota; and Don Winter, Upper Midwest Dairy Business Advisor for Land O’Lakes Member Relations.
